Question:
I've searched the net with negative results. Does anybody have a link or
can somebody provide a PDF version of the instructions? I know how to
reset/program the remotes, but the lightbulbs stay on and I'd like to know
if there's a timer setting, etc. to turn them off. Also, the remote has 3
buttons. Why 3 when only one controls the door?

it's like a Genie you can not change the timeout for the light.
The buttons on the remote are for when you have more than 1 garage
door and want to control them separately.
You did not look very hard for the instructions. I bought a newer
home with a Craftsman garage door opener and did not have any
trouble getting the instructions. one button is for the light one
for the door and one for locking the door, at least that is how mine works.
go to www.sears.com and then check off parts and then enter the model
number of the opener and list the parts available... look for the owners
manual..and order it.... probably just a few bucks, but will save you in
the long run years down the road.....
